THE BIG SWAP : Fairtrade Fortnight, 22nd February -7th March

In Kirkcudbright on Saturday morning 27th February, passers-by were offered free cups of tea and asked to swap their usual cuppa for a Fairtrade Cuppa, or, if they already drink Fairtrade Tea then to swap their bananas, coffee, fruit juice, chocolate, cotton socks, T-shirts, soap, or one of the other approx. 4,500 products bearing the FAIRTRADE MARK.

Buying Fairtrade ensures that developing world producers receive a better deal for the work they do.  The aim is to get 1 million and one people to swap one item; swaps can be registered at www.thebigswap.org.uk
